Elder bon-o-bon Borup

Hi.  How is everyone doing.  I'm great.  I loved all of the letters.  Sorry to hear about izzy.  Its for the better.  She probably is depressed because I'm not there.

Well this week has been good.  Really good.  I went on an intercambio with an elder Keatch. He is from Lehi, really cool guy, he is now companions with Elder Warren.  I didn't get to go on intercambios with Elder Warren. Next cambio maybe. But it went well.  I directed the sector, and it was my first time so it was a little nerve wracking.  And at first it was awful,  I planned the day with out thinking of the distance between each house.  We ended up walking 9.6 miles.  But towards the end of the day we got in a house and they fed us a delicious dinner.  Well we said it was delicious.   I'm going on another intercambio this week.  But on this one I am leaving to go to Puerto Natales.  That is three hours away.  I'm going to go with one of the Zone leaders and elder Delgado is going to go with the other one to Por Venir.  I hope I don't throw up.  That would be the worst.  I think the road is relatively straight.

Well I bought some really expensive scripture cases this week.  But they are super sweet.  The lady who makes them took a picture of my face and is going to draw it on leather.  I'm excited, I'll send you pictures when i get them.

Also this week we taught a ton.  We have found some new really great people. Last night we had a lesson with a young couple, who are really intelligent.  I love it when they are intelligent, because then they understand.  We taught them the restoration and they want us to come back, and have a movie night.  We are going to bring the Restoration movie.  Going to be fun. They are providing the food.

Well that's about it.  This week we walked a record breaking 49.8 miles.  We walked a ton this week.  I love being a missionary.  Just walking around knowing that you are the one responsible to deliver this awesome message to all of these people is a cool feeling.  And at times a little overwhelming.  I love all of you guys a ton.

Love,

I'm Not On This Planet Anymore

Hi everyone, how are you all.  I hope well.  I won a itunes card?! sweet!  Keli is getting baptized?  Man that's cool.

Well i am on the edge of the world.  And i miss my old sector.  This is a picture of us with Silvina and her dad Orlando.  I cried the night we were supposed to leave.  She said she didn't want anything to do with the sister missionaries, because one time she talked with them and they said that they wouldn't leave Ovejeria until she got baptized.  Its really sad.  But we left some good instructions for the hermanas and hopefully they do them.  Inline image 1

Well There is nothing I can do now.  But this new sector is awesome.  People seem to get more and more nice as I move south,  in contrast to everyone in Valdivia who wouldn't even respond to a hello.  Yeah people are nice here.  The members seem good and we are teaching an entire family.  They are really sweet, right now there struggle is coming to church but we almost had them this week.

The weather here is unreal.  It is freezing.  The reason this letter is kind of short is not because i don't have time, but because i cant move my fingers.  The wind is at least a constant 30mph all of the time and we have seen some pretty crazy gusts.  Lots of fun.  And it rains lots.  but only for about 20min at a time.

I can see the Megeline straight from our apartment.  Super cool.  This is a picture of me in front of our apartment building.Inline image 3

But my Spanish is still struggling it turns out.  I can really roughly communicate with my companion.  but its hard.  And he isn't the most patient person.  But this is all good for me.  I think I will have the language mastered by the end of six weeks.

Well that's it form me.  I really love hearing from from you guys.  Mad-eye, keep up the good work.  Mom and Dad, same to you.  I love all of you guys so much.  take care.

Cambios

 12-28-13
It was awesome talking to all of you on Christmas.  You all look good.  A little different but good.  Mad-eye keep enjoying the ice cream.  Well we just got a call from President Rappleye.....  I'm going to Punta Arenas.  I will be in barrio Fitz Roy.  My companion is Elder Delgado.  He is from Cordoba Argentina.  I've met him once, he is nice.  Elder Warren is also going to the South.  He is going to Porvenir.  The farthest south any mission can get.  Ovejeria is going to get turned over to the Hermanas.  Not too excited about leaving.  This sector is way too cool,  I really hope that Silvina keeps on listening to the new missionaries, I think she will come to church this week and then all she needs is one more attendance and she will be ready for baptism.
Well that's the big news.  I am going to buy a camera today so when you get this email i might need you to put some more money in my account.  But this week has been awesome.  I really enjoyed Christmas.  Lots of fun with elder warren.  I went on an intercambio with Elder Davila. He is an elder in our district from Guatamala.  He is absolutely insane. We were in his sector and he took me to a crazy member who begged us for food,  then we went to a guy who didn't have eyeballs, and then we went to a guys house whose fly was down and wasn't wearing underwear.  Not the best intercambio that i have had.

Well i feel bad that i didn't really speak Spanish for you.  I do speak.  I promise.  I hope you really liked the presents.  I tried to pick out some thing for each of you that you would like.  I am going to try and be better at emailing all of you.  Because i don't think ill be getting much physical mail where im going. I still cant believe it.  I will be with the penguins down there.  I'll try and send a picture.  I hope i find a camera today.

Well i love you guys a lot.  Ill write you again next Monday.

Well It's Hot

 12-21-13
Hi everyone,  how are the Christmas preparations going?  Life is all sunshine and butterflies here in Osorno.  It finally did decide to get hot.  I mean really hot.  The other day when we got home we went up stairs and looked at a thermometer and it said that it was 94º.  We don't sleep up there anymore.  We take our mattresses downstairs to sleep.  much more pleasant. Another way we fight the heat is by eating ice cream.  Here in Chile there is a little store that sells ice cream on every block.  I think we have almost tried them all.  On average i think we eat 4 Popsicles a day.  Some days we treat our selves to these drum stick looking thing called a Danky.  They are delicious.
Well this week has been busy.  Today i went to the foot doctor,(I had an ingrown toenail)  played basketball (I am terrible at basketball), and ate sopaipias (they were massive! Probably 1 foot long, and they only cost 200 pesos, which is only like 40 cents).  The day before we had an activity as a zone.  What we did was we all got our Santa hats on and we went to go sing in the plaza.  It was fun, lots of people stopped to listen to us. Then we had an activity right after in the stake center.  Silvina came!  this is the first time that she has gone to anything with us.  So that's awesome.

On Thursday we had an English class with Silvina, she speaks well.  Then we bought a ton of fruit that we immediately ate.  I think i ate about two pounds of cherries.  Bad poops.  bad idea.
I cant really remember what we did in the begging of the week and i forgot my agenda at home so i guess that is all.  I walked 38.7 miles this week.  And i ate almost 25 ice cream bars.  Life of a missionary.  Love you guys a ton.  and i cant wait to talk to you.  Going to be awesome.
