Weather

Well the work has been really slow this week.  Not terrible. but slow.  I believe it would have to do with the insane weather we have been having.  Absolutely nuts.  The rain/snow comes at you at a 90 degree angle, and is backed by 80mph winds.  It really stinks.  I have discovered this week that my jacket is not waterproof, or really that warm, i wore three jackets on Saturday and since we didn't really get into any houses (because we were drenched) I was freezing for 7 hours.  But oh well, that's not new for us.  And it does make me feel really proud of our mission.  I think they only send the really tough missionaries here.  Its kind of fun to walk around in what can only be described as a class 3 hurricane. with snow.
So the other day one of our investigators house got knocked down by the wind.  Well the house is connected to another house, and that house was starting to build a second floor, so they had a 9ft tall wall that got blown on top of their house. The house is completely destroyed.  We had an appointment with them at 4pm and we got delayed with lunch, we got there at 4:30 and they told us that the house got knocked down 30 min ago.  close call there.  They are all fine.  only the mom and 21 year old son were in the house, and they just got a few scrapes.

We did not find housing for Fernando and Margot, and are getting really desperate. Because of this sad fact, we were not able to teach them this week.  They have been looking for housing every free minute they have.  kind of a bummer.  well actually its a major bummer.  I know once they find a place, they will get baptized, but i just really hope that it is in our sector.

I do think i have grown a lot these past 2 weeks.  Lots of patience and lots of love.  I really love you guys and I want you to know that I know that these things are true.

Love,
Elder Borúp

PS mom I give talks monthly and I am in charge of gospel principle class every other week.

House Hunting

Well thank you for all of the letters.  I would like to inform you that after five treatments Elder Delgado officially doesn't have rabies.  So i guess that's good news.
This week has been awesome.  well, Fernando and Margot are moving. they were taking care of the house of Fernandos uncle.  they haven't found a place yet, so we have been looking like crazy people to find a house in our sector for rent.  Still no success.  But i have lots of hope, because we live in the most hoodie sector in punta arenas, there are tons of really cheap houses and apt. for rent.  But they go fast.  We found one yesterday, and we went to go check it out with Fernando, but by the time we got back someone had already taken it.  So that's been the big challenge this week.  I don't want to give these guys up.  They are amazing.  The other day Margot told us that she wants to be baptized, but that she would prefer that she and Fernando got baptized on the same day.  And Fernando isn't that far behind.

But that's them.  This week i went on intercambios with a redhead from new Mexico.  It was fun.  We found a less active member who took us for a ride in his truck.  The dude had a BIG truck.  He did donuts in a construction site, and then we went to a big hill to do some crazy 4 wheel driving.  Probably against the mission rules.  But........  I don't really know.  And its not like i got in the truck and told him to go do that stuff.  He just kind of did it.  Oh well, as my companion always tell me, I can repent.

Thats about it.  I like you guys a lot.  take care.  tell Izzy i said Hi.

Love Elder Bor-ap
