This week was kind of hard. We were gone two days on intercambios. Oh but right before we left we went over to a lunch appointment with a member, halfway through her husband started drinking beer, which is normal, but then she started to drink. I didn't know she drank, so it came as a shock, but the real problem is that she is on anti depressants to. So within minutes she was acting like a nut. That was fun.
Puerto Natales was forever away, but the road was really
straight, and really pretty. List of animal life i saw: Flamingos,
Ostrich looking things, Fox, Guanaco, a huge eagle looking thing, tons
and tons of sheep, and a gigantic cow. I saw some awesome mountains. I
have pictures, but we are in a super sketchy cyber right now so i don't
want to risk my camera.
But anyways, we got there at about 8 at night. I
worked for about an hour. then we went back to there house. They don't
have a kitchen. So i starved for the whole time i was there. Then in
the morning i went out again with Elder Sanchez, who is the District
Leader, We went to the church to talk with the Branch president. The
guy started screaming at elder Sanchez, about stuff like not making
their beds, and not cleaning the windows. HE is also the landlord.
Elder Sanchez then asked if we could give some assignment out to some
less actives that day. He said no. Then the president asked if elder
Sanchez could do stuff on the computer for him. Elder Sanchez said no,
we can't use the computers in the church. Then the branch president
started pacing back and forth, punching walls, and kicking chairs
getting mad at everyone in the branch. I couldn't believe it.
Apparently he is the only worthy priesthood holder in the entire city,
and was the only one who could be the BP. But he has done some really
apostate stuff, like make his daughter secretary, and have councilors
who smoke and drink.
I am so grateful for having a functioning ward. We
had a meeting with our bishop this week and he gave us a ton of names of
less actives that he wants us to visit. all of whom are actively paying
their tithing.
I need to finish but i love all of you tons. The
church is true, being a missionary is awesome, and having investigators
is the best.
Some amor,
Elder Borup
